Questions and Answers

1.) Q: What does my registration pay for?

          A. All registration fee's go towards a reversable Jersey, socks and Tournament fees. (All tournament fees are included in your registration price.)

2.) Q: Why do we need to have a reversable jerseys?

          A: The reason we pay a little extra for reversable jerseys, is because there could be another team with similar colors at the tournaments. If this happens then the home team defaults to another color. (Travel teams wear uniforms designed around their club colors.)

3.) Q: Is Chaotic Kicks affiliated with any official clubs?

         A: Yes! Chaotic Kicks is an officially recognized club within US Club Soccer. All tournaments are sanctioned and held throughout the state of Michigan.

4.) Q: When is soccer season?

         A: Our season runs from fall through spring. Practices continue year-round, with breaks during the summer and winter holidays

Tournaments are generally held during the months of March-May and August- October. Primarily on the weekends.

For the 2025-2026 season: Tryouts are July 19th & 20th. Practice starts in September for 2025.

5.) Q: Where will tournaments be held?

        A: Tournaments will be held across the state of Michigan. At this time, Chaotic Kicks will only participate in Michigan-based tournaments through out US Club Soccer.

6.) Q: How many tournaments will we play in a seasons?

        A: We aim to participate in two tournaments per month. However, teams may choose to play in more or fewer tournaments during any given month, based on a team-wide decision.

7.) Q: What costs should I expect?

        A: Your registration fee of $100.00 covers your child's reversable jersey, socks and            tournament entrees.

*Note as this is a travel club, there may  be costs associated with: Travel and transportation, some overnight hotel stays (If need be), personal equipment such as Soccer cleats, shin guards, soccer ball etc. 

*Note Overnight stay arrangements are the responsibility of the players guardian. 

8.) Q: Do we need to purchase indoor and outdoor cleats?

     A: This question is really left up to you, we will have some opportunists to play indoors and outdoors. Instead of buying two different pairs of cleats we recommend looking to " Multi Ground Soccer Shoes".  These can be worn indoors or if need be outdoors. 

9.) Q: Do you offer financial assistance or individual sponsorships?

        A: Yes! We understand that travel Clubs can be costly. Chaotic Kicks has partnered with several local businesses to provide player sponsorships for those who may need financial assistance.

ByLaws

Article 1: Name and Purpose​

1. 1: Name

The name of the organization shall be Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club. It shall be a nonprofit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Michigan.

1.2: Philosophy

Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club's mission is to positively impact the development of youth in our community by providing soccer and life-enriching opportunities to young players of all ages playing abilities, to create a lifelong passion for the sport of soccer, to help raise the level of soccer in our town, our state, and our nation. We strive to play an active role in the leadership, development, and personal growth of our players. Our ultimate goal as a club is to encourage, inspire, and empower each player to reach the highest level possible within the game and in life, while helping create leaders and individuals that will inspire others to do the same. Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club shall be operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

1.3: General Structure

Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club is a membership-based nonprofit corporation consisting of non-voting members (the "members") as set forth in Article 2. Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club will operate with a Directors as outlines in Article 3.

1.4: General Responsibilities

It is Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club responsibility to see that each member complies with the rules of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club, US Club of Soccer, and each of the tournament holders/fields that we visit.

1.5: By-Laws Changes

The Bylaws may be amended by the following procedure:

A. Proposed change(s) to the Bylaws may be brought by a Member to the Board for consideration. The proposed change must be submitted in writing to the CEO one wee before a regularly scheduled Director’s meeting in order to appear on the meeting's agenda under "New Business."

B. The proposed change(s) shall be publicly read at the Directors meeting: however, no vote will be taken at that time. The proposed change(s) will be tabled until the next Directors meeting.

C. All members shall be notified of the proposed change(s) electronically by email as well as the date, time, and place of the next Directors meeting when the proposed change(s) will be discussed. 

D. At the directors meeting, a motion to approve the change(s) may be made by a Director serving on the Boards, with Directors and members discussion to follow. The motion is approved if it receives at least three-fourths (3/4) vote of the board, at which time the change(s) shall take immediate effect.

ARTICLE 2: MEMEBERS

2.1: Eligibility

A. Parent Members. All parents of active Chaotic Kicks players shall be members of Chaotic Kicks. Parent members will cease to be members when Chaotic Kicks player is no longer an active Chaotic Kicks player unless such member is also a coach or supporting member.

B. Coaches. All Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club coaches and coordinators shall be members of the Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club. 

C. Supporting Members. Any -person sincerely interested in active participation to further the objectives of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club, including parents of former Chaotic Kicks players and other individuals who support the efforts of Chaotic Kicks, may apply to the Directors to become a member, subject approval by the Directors. 

2.2: No Voting Rights

A. Except as otherwise granted by the Directors, members should have rights, duties, or obligations in the management of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club. Members do not have the right to vote in Board elections or other decisions regarding the management of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club.

B. Members may nominate individuals to serve as Directors during the annual meeting or a special meeting if such nominations are requested by the Directors. 

2.3: Annual Meetings and Board Elections

A. Annual Meeting, Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club shall hold an annual meeting for the purpose of gathering its members together and, if nominations are requested by the Directors, to solicit nominees for the election to the Director Positions. The annual meeting shall be publicized to all members with the announced date, time and place not less than ten (10) days before the meeting. The annual meeting shall generally be held in May or June of each year, but it may be moved to another date if approved by Directors.​

B. Member nominations for Director Elections.

In the event that the Directors requests nominations for open positions on the board, members may submit nominations in writing to the Directors with the same name, contact information, and a short statement explaining why the person should be considered for a Director position. Written nominations must be submitted to the Directors no later than one (1) month prior to the Director elections. 

C. Attendance at Director Meetings.

Members may attend board meetings, but may participate in such meetings only as provided by the directors.

2.4: Member Removal

Any member may be removed if approved by at least three-fourths (3/4) vote of Directors. 

2.5: Right of Inspection

Any member has the right, at any reasonable time as determined by the Directors, to inspect all books, records, and documents of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club; provided, however, that members shall not have access to private personal records as determined by the Directors in its sole discretion.

Article 3: Directors

3.1: Eligibility

Only members are eligible to serve as Directors.

3.2: Number and term of office

The directors shall consist of not less than three (3) no more than twelve (12) Directors. The size of the directors shall be determined by the directors. The terms of the directors shall be separated by position. All director positions shall be filled by vote of the directors, with directors being nominated by members (Article 11: 2.3, b). At the annual meeting of the directors, the directors shall vote to fill any director position whose terms have expired, resigned, or removed. The term of office of each director shall commence on the date of election at the annual meeting of directors held during the year in which the term expires as provided below, or until their successor shall be elected and qualified in their stead. Directors may serve an unlimited number of consecutive terms. If the size of directors increases, the directors shall elect those persons to serve in the new director’s positions. The directors may, in its sole discretion, solicit nominations for open director positions for members.

A. CEO- Shall hold a permanent position as a director, until that person decides to resign, or Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club is dissolved.

B. Vice Chair- Shall hold a two (2) year term.

C. Director of Treasury- Shall hold a two (2) year term.

D. Secretary- Shall hold a one (1) year term, however, this may be extended to an odd year offset.

3.3: Quorum and Voting

The presence at a meeting of a majority of the total number of directors then in office shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. Unless otherwise required by law, the Articles of Incorporation, or these Bylaws, decisions made by a majority of the directors at the directors meeting duly held by notification to the members shall be regarded as an act of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club.

3.4: Meetings

Meetings of the directors shall be held at such place or places within the State of Michigan as many from time to time be determined by a majority of the directors. Meetings shall not be scheduled for a legal holiday.

  1. The board may set the time and place for regular meetings of the directors as is necessary to conduct the business of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club. The directors shall use their best efforts to meet at least once per quarter.

  2. The annual meeting of the directors shall be held in the month of May or June, on a date determined by the directors.

  3. Special meetings of the directors may be called at any time by the CEO. A special meeting must have a special purpose in order to be called.

3.5: Notice, agenda, and minutes

Unless required by the Michigan Nonprofit Corporation Act or otherwise provided in these Bylaws, the annual, regular and special meetings of the directors shall be held pursuant to notice of the date, time, place and purpose thereof given to each director in any of the following manners: (a) by notice given personally, either orally or in writing; (b) by notice given by telephone; (c) by electronic transmission; or (d) by written notice sent by mail. The notice shall be provided not less than ten (10) days before the meeting. Each meeting shall have an agenda before the meeting and Secretary shall take the minutes. The agenda and minutes of all committee meetings shall be given to the directors prior to the next directors meeting. The agenda and minutes may be posted to the Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club website, and other optional media available on the director’s page.

3.6: Participation in meetings by remote communication

Provided the directors approve of using conference telephone or other means of remote communication during a meeting, a director or committee member designated by the board may participate in a meeting by means of such approved method of remote communication through which all persons participating in the meeting can communicate with each other. Participation in a meeting pursuant to this Section constitutes presence in person at the meeting. 

3.8: Proxies

Except as required in the Michigan Nonprofit Corporation Act, any director may authorize another person to represent them by written proxy when two (2) or more directors are notified of such. Each proxy must have: the name of the person representing the director; the date of the meeting for which their proxy is valid; and that the director's signature. If the proxy is sent by email or text message, the notified directors shall provide evidence of such text or email to the President and any other director who requests such information. 

3.9: Death; Removal from the board of directors

A director's term of office shall terminate upon the directors death or removal from the board. A director may be removed from the board with a provided cause, if the removal is approved by not less than three-fourths (3/4) of the entire directors at a duly called meeting of the directors and the notice of the meeting states that removal of the directors is a matter to be discussed and voted upon at the meeting, and the director who is to be removed is given the opportunity to speak at the directors meeting regarding his or her removal. 

3.10: Resignation

Any director may resign at any time upon notice to the board in writing.

3.11: Vacancies

An opening on the directors resulting from a vacancy or an increase in the number of directors shall be filled by the affirmative vote of a plurality of the remaining directors, though less than a quorum.

3.12: Reimbursement and compensation

Directors and officers shall not receive any compensation for their services without unanimous approval by the CEO and treasurer. Reimbursement of advances may be made for any expenses incurred or paid b y them for the  benefit of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club. Reimbursement request over $250.00 require the written approval of two (2) or more directors. The treasurer may provide reimbursement for items under $250.00 without the written approval of the board. 

3.13: Committees

The directors or CEO may form one or more committees to assist in the operations of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club and/or to make recommendations to the directors or CEO. The authority of each committee is prescribed by the directors or CEO, and such authority shall not exceed that or either the directors or CEO.

Articles 4: Officers

4.1: Election or appointment

The directors will have the ability to select members to be appointed officers. This role will have no voting power, however they will be formed for the pure ability to assist the directors in the manner they have been elected. Such positions could be uniform coordinator, field maintenance, and any other position that may need to be filled to help alleviate tasks from the directors. 

4.2: Term of office

The term of office of all Officers [ and non-directors Officers] shall be one (1) year or until their respective successor is chosen. 

4.3: Vacancies

The directors shall have the power to fill any vacancies in any Officer positions occurring from whatever reason. Any person elected to fill a vacancy shall serve until the next election of Officers by the directors and shall exercise the full power and authority of the officer position to which he or she is elected, unless otherwise limited by vote of the directors.

4.4: Power and duties

The officers shall respectively have such powers and perform such duties in the management of the property and affairs of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club, subject to the control of the directors, as generally pertain to their respective offices, as well as such additional powers and duties as may for time to time be conferred by the directors. All officers, including non-director officers, must complete and return to US Club Soccer their Risk Management Disclosure Statement for a background check.

4.5: Removal as an officer

Any officer may be removed with or without cause, by the vote of at least three-fourths (3/4) of the total number of directors, whenever in its judgement the best interests of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club will be served thereby.

4.6: Resignation

Any officer may resign at any time by giving written notice to the directors or the CEO of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club.

Article 5: Indemnification of directors, officers, employees, and agents

5.1: Scope of indemnity

Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club shall indemnify its directors and officers (including non-director officers) against expenses (including attorneys' fees), judgments, fines, and amounts paid in settlement actually and reasonably incurred by them in connection with any actions or suits brought or threatened against them, including actions by or in the right of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer club, by reason of the fact that such person was serving as a director or officer, employee, non-director volunteer, or agent of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club, to the fullest extent permitted by the Michigan Nonprofit Corporation Act. Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club may indemnify persons who are not directors or officers to the extent authorized by resolution of the directors or by contractual agreement authorized by the directors. A change in the Michigan on profit corporation act, the articles of incorporation, or these Bylaws that reduces the scope of indemnification shall not apply to any action or omission that occurs before the change.

5.2: Authorization of indemnification

Unless ordered by a court or otherwise provided by law, Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club shall indemnify a person only upon determination that the person acted in good faith and in a manner the person reasonably believed to be in or not opposed to Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club best interests. Such determination shall be made (1) by majority vote of quorum of the directors consisting of directors who were not parties to the action or suit, (2) if a quorum of disinterested directors is not obtainable, by a majority vote of a committee of directors who were not parties to the action and consisting of not less than two disinterested directors, (3) by independent legal counsel in a written option, or (4) the members.

5.3 Insurance

Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club may purchase and maintain insurance on behalf of any person who is or was a director, officer, non-director, employee, non-director volunteer, or player of Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club, or is or was serving at Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club request in any other enterprise against any liability incurred in such capacity.

Article 6: miscellaneous provisions

6.1: Fiscal year

 The fiscal year of CKYSC shall run from July 1st to June 30th of each year.

6.2: Dissolution

If, for some reason, Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club should no longer exist, all assets will be used to pay all debts and liabilities owed by Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer club. Any assets that remain shall be divided equally between soccer programs for youth, or to a local charities, as long as those organizations qualify for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code, or shall be distributed to the federal government, or to a state or local government for a public purpose.

6.3 Coaching staff and player selection

A. Head coaches, each Chaotic Kicks team will have a head coach who has been approved by the directors after an application and review procedure. Head coaches must have their Grassroots License no later than twelve (12) months after the head coach is hired. That license can be obtained via US Club Soccer website. Every Coach will need to pay for there background checks and additional standard medical training.

B. A​assistant coaches

The head coach may select one or more assistant coaches with the approval of the directors. Assistant coaches are strongly encouraged to obtain their Grassroots License. Assistant coaches will need to pay for their background checks and additional standard medical training.

C. Compliance with policies

The head coaches, and assistant coaches are subject to the US Club Soccer and Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club Bylaws and policies. Each person serving in such capacity must complete and return to the US Club Soccer their Risk Management disclosure statement for a background check. 

D. Player selection

Chaotic Kicks players are selected through a try-out procedure. Their membership is for one (1) year, commencing on the date of selection by a Chaotic Kicks team. The directors, head coach, and/or assistant team coach(es) will assess and score players in the try-out procedure. The head coach for the selecting team has the final authority for player selection. 

6.4:Competion an leagues

A. US Club Soccer

The US Club Soccer operates during the fall and spring seasons. It is affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation, United States Youth Soccer Association, and Michigan State Youth Soccer Association. Chaotic Kicks Youth Soccer Club shall collect fees from members for the fall and spring seasons.

B. Tournaments

Each Chaotic Kicks team will play numerous tournaments. It is required for players to play more than 50% of these scheduled tournaments. If a team cannot participate due to a lack of players, we will try and obtain another tournament for them to play at if possible. We cannot foresee the future and those will not be held liable if we cannot get a team to a tournament due to a lack of players. it is the responsibility of the players and the members to make sure they are available to play on that scheduled tournament day/week/weekend.

C. Other leagues

Chaotic Kicks may opt to play local area leagues or travel teams in order to scrimmage, practice, or encourage completion.
